About Alex
Trumpet Performer Music Educator
- Live Performance – In his first four years as an active musician in Nashville, TN, Alex has had the opportunity to perform in a number of live settings as part of both collegiate ensembles and through freelance work. He has performed with jazz bands, wind ensembles, small jazz groups, symphony orchestras, and pit orchestras for musical theatre performances. Alex will be joining the Middle Tennessee Sinfonietta for the 2021-2022 season.
- Studio Work – Alex has had the pleasure of performing with several up and coming artists such as Marquis Boudling, Noelle Bangert, Meghan Garrison, and Kat Carlton. He has performed in a variety of studios including the famous OceanWay Studio on Music Row in Nashville, TN.
- Variety of Styles – One of his most useful attributes is his adaptability. Alex has had the opportunity to perform a variety of genres of music including classical, jazz, blues, soul, gospel, pop, rnb, country, alternative, and musical theatre. He will always be ready to provide you with a myriad of sounds and styles to best fit the needs of your project or live gig.
- K-12 Music – Alex currently teaches at J.W. Wiseman Elementary in Portland TN as the Music Teacher.
- Instrumental Pedagogy – Alex received training in brass, woodwinds, percussion, and string pedagogy at Belmont University through instrumental methods courses. He has experience providing instruction to a wide variety of learners, including students with developmental disabilities and special needs.
- Ensemble Instruction – As a part of his instrumental licensure, Alex received extensive training in conducting and rehearsal technique. Alex has also served as the Winter Ensembles Director for Ascension Lutheran Church in Charlotte NC, where he has directed the Chancel Choir and accompanying Brass Quintet.
- Private Lessons – Alex teaches private lessons, both on trumpet and other brass insturments.
