Marching In The Light
There’s something irresistible about the rhythms of South African music. Whether it’s the beat of a drum or the layered harmony of voices, the sound carries a joy that seems to rise from deep within the soul. It’s the kind of music that makes it hard to sit still—your feet want to move, your heart wants to lift, and your spirit wants to sing.
That same spirit of joy is what we find in the light of God revealed through Jesus Christ. His light shines into our lives, giving us a reason to move—not just physically, but spiritually. We march in faith, sing in hope, and dance in the freedom that salvation brings.
We praise because we’ve been given a gift beyond measure. We are redeemed, restored, and renewed as a result of the salvation received through Jesus. And that’s worth celebrating in every way possible.
One day, we will dance in the full presence of God. In Revelation 21 and 22, we’re reminded that the light we rejoice in today is just a glimpse of the eternal light to come. We’re given an awesome vision of a “new Jerusalem”, the holy city of God. It’s a place where there is no temple, “for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb.” There is no need for sun or moon, “for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb.” There is no night there—only the unceasing brilliance of God’s presence. We will see His face, serve Him with joy, and reign with Him forever.
Until that day, let’s keep praising. Let’s keep moving to the rhythm of grace. And let’s keep reflecting His light in our lives, knowing that our worship here is a foretaste of the eternal celebration to come.
